Dave Grohl, the iconic frontman of the Foo Fighters, made a surprising revelation on Tuesday, disclosing that he recently became a father to a daughter born outside of his marriage.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl announced in a heartfelt statement shared on his social media accounts. “I am committed to being a loving and supportive parent to her.”
He went on to express his dedication to his family, saying, “I love my wife and children deeply, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Grohl also acknowledged the sensitive nature of the situation, stating, “We are grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
The 55-year-old rock star did not provide any further details about his new daughter or her mother, and his representatives declined to offer any additional comments beyond his initial post.
Grohl and his wife, Jordyn Blum, were last seen publicly together attending a Wimbledon tennis match this past summer, where they were seated in the prestigious Royal Box alongside British football legend David Beckham.
This is not the first time Grohl’s personal life has drawn public attention. His first marriage, to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood in 1994, ended in divorce three years later amidst accusations of infidelity, as reported by The Guardian.
Grohl married Blum, a former model who transitioned into a career as a film and television producer, in 2003. The couple shares three daughters: 18-year-old Violet Grohl, who is also an emerging singer, a 15-year-old, and a 10-year-old.
Blum has been actively involved in Grohl’s professional life, even co-directing the 2002 Foo Fighters’ music video “Walking a Line,” which featured behind-the-scenes footage of the band during their tour.
