In a memorable surprise for fans, Chris Hemsworth made an unexpected appearance at Ed Sheeran’s concert in Bucharest, Romania, this past Saturday night. The actor, widely known for his role as Thor, took the stage at Romania’s National Arena, where he showcased his drumming skills in front of a massive crowd of around 70,000 people.
Hemsworth’s appearance wasn’t just for fun; it was part of filming for an upcoming episode of the second season of his National Geographic/Disney+ series, “Limitless With Chris Hemsworth.” The highly anticipated second season of the series is set to premiere in 2025.
Shortly after the performance, Sheeran took to Instagram to share his excitement, posting, “Got [Chris Hemsworth] to learn to play drums for my stadium show.” The caption accompanied a video of Hemsworth on stage, clearly thrilled to be part of the event.
During the concert, Hemsworth played the drums for Sheeran’s hit song “Thinking Out Loud.” Sheeran, who is currently on his +–=÷× Tour, also known as The Mathematics Tour, revealed that Hemsworth had reached out to him about the collaboration.
“Basically, what’s happening is Chris emailed me last December saying he’s doing a documentary on cognitive health and the benefits of learning an instrument,” Sheeran explained in the Instagram video. “And he came to visit me, and he has learned drums and he’s coming on stage in front of 70,000 [people].”
Reflecting on the experience, Hemsworth added, “I’ve been thinking about it a lot. It’ll be nice to put this to bed,” suggesting that this performance was a significant milestone in his journey.
